155 Days

This was always one of my favorite hymns when I was little.

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard thee calling, "come, follow me!"
And we see where thy footprints falling, Lead us to thee.

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

Tho they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains, Seeking his sheep,
Or along by Siloam's fountains, Helping the weak.

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

If they lead through the temple holy, Preaching the Word,
Or in homes of the poor and lowly, Serving the Lord.

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

Then at last, when on high He sees us, Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus End at His throne.

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

I purchased a plane ticket today.  I am ready to follow where Jesus leads me.

158 Days 'til Africa

I have some great news! A friend of mine (Christie Cotney) is moving to Uganda in October, and she volunteered to pick me up at the airport in Entebbe!  Entebbe is the closest airport to Jinja (where I'm staying) but it is still about a three hour drive.  Amani would have sent a driver, but that would mean a three hour ride on a boda (motorcycle type thing) with a stranger.... Needless to say, I am pretty excited about this turn of events. :)

BTW, Christie is raising money for her move (and for the people in the village that she is moving to) by selling these beautiful Ugandan Magazine Bracelets, Necklaces, and Earrings, so check them out!  http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=478540&id=758355310

159 Days 'til Africa

I paid $106 today for the privilege of being vaccinated against Yellow Fever. :) One step closer to Africa....

I've gotten questions lately about what I'm doing to raise money. One way I'm doing this is by teaching piano lessons, so if you know anybody who wants lessons let me know!  Lessons are $10 for 30min once a week, 100% of everything I earn will go in my mission trip fund.  I am also a pretty good babysitter, if you know anyone who needs one.  :)

I don't feel really comfortable asking for money, but if you feel led to donate you can send me a fb message or email me at morganlprice@yahoo.com

Hi everyone! I decided to create this blog so that my friends and family can keep up with me on my journey to Africa.

Why The name?  well, Matthew 13:45-46 says- Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Anyone want to guess what Uganda's nickname is?
The "Pearl of Africa".  Coincidence?

160 days until Africa  :)
